Matt Schaub tears up the Pro Bowl

hell yea buddy.

Schuab Pro Bowl MVP
When Pro Bowl selections were first announced, many Houston Texans fans felt that quarterback Matt Schaub had been snubbed. A few drop outs and changes later, and Matt Schaub walked away from the Pro Bowl last night with a victory for the AFC and an MVP award for himself.

When Pro Bowl selections were released, Schaub who lead the NFL in passing yards this past season, was listed as the first alternate at the quarterback position. Patriot Tom Brady dropped out citing injury, and Schaub took his spot joining fellow Texans Andre Johnson, DeMeco Ryans, and Mario Williams in the Pro Bowl. Another Texan selected, rookie Bryan Cushing, bowed out due to injury as well.

With the game tied 34 all in the fourth quarter, it was Schaub who returned to helm the AFC’s scoring drive which culminated with a two yard TD run by Titan running back, Chris Johnson.

The AFC wins 41 – 34, and Matt Schaub, who was not intended to start and who was not intended to play, threw for 189 yards, two TD’s and took home MVP honors in his Pro Bowl debut.

herschel walker MMA debut in January

hell yea.
Herschel Walker Will Make MMA Debut In Sunrise

Walker, who will turn 48 next year, is bringing that athleticism to South Florida. And by "athleticism," of course I mean some blend of Muay Thai, Tae Kwon Do, and ballet ass-kicking ability.

Now he's a mixed martial artist, fighting with StrikeForce. And his first fight will take place at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, on January 30. Nobody knows who he'll be fighting yet. Strikeforce officials say his opponent will be announced in one of their upcoming Showtime fights. Tickets will go on sale starting December 7, though.

At 6'1 and more than 220 pounds, Walker is a fifth degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. (That means this fifth degree can spin 180 degrees and give you a kick that will leave a 45-degree dent in your face and knocking you out--zero degrees--cold.) But he's also been training apparently, at the American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose, California.

Northeastern ends football program

damn, thats cold.
Northeastern's decision to drop football program stuns players
Outside of Matthews Arena this morning, three former members of the Northeastern football team were talking, still wondering how much more the world around them could come crashing down as they absorbed the announcement that the school had decided to discontinue the football program.

Inside, in an area set aside in the weight room, Northeastern athletic director Peter Roby tried to put as positive a spin on it, citing lack of success, coupled with a financial drain, which led to the decision.

All of this unfolded this morning, a day after the word came that Northeastern was discontinuing its football program.
