On January 15, 2010, parts of the world witnessed an annular solar eclipse that turned the sun into a bright red or orange ring.
An annular eclipse is when the moon passes between the earth and the sun, with the moon’s apparent diameter being smaller than that of the sun’s (the more common solar eclipse is when the moon completely covers the sun). Anyway, pretty neat photo huh!via doobybrain
